One of Mombasa Governor Joho’s bodyguard has been reported to have tested positive for COVID-19. The bodyguard is said to have tested positive for the virus while in Nairobi. The other bodyguards attached to the Governor have all be quarantined at a beach hotel in Mombasa.
Sources indicate that the said bodyguard had escorted Governor Joho to Nairobi for a senate hearing and later happened to test positive immediately after the session ended. According to the report, all were flown back to Mombasa.

The governor together with all of his staff members usually undergo the COVID-19 test after every two weeks just to make sure that they are safe.
Chief of staff, Mr. Joab Tumbo, on the other hand, retaliated that the case has not been brought to his attention.
“I am not aware of the issue. But let me find out and get back. Mombasa Beach Hotel is a government facility and if there were, I would have been informed,” Tumbo told The Star.
