Jambojet Limited a Kenyan low-cost airline has appointed its chief financial officer, Karanja Ndegwa as the airline’s interim managing director. Ndegwa now replaces Allan Kilavuka who resigned to Join Kenya Airways last month.
Jambojet chairman Vincent Rague said in a statement on Monday that Ndegwa’s appointment will take effect from 1st May 2020 until the board fills up the position on a permanent basis.
Ndegwa is now taking over from Kilavuka who was picked by Kenya Airways (KQ) as the news Chief Executive Officer. However Kilavuka is still serving Jambojet as a nonexecutive member.
“We are grateful Mr Ndegwa has accepted to continue serving as the Chief Financial Officer even as he takes on the new role of acting Managing Director. We wish to thank Mr. Kilavuka for his dedication and service to Jambojet,” said Mr. Vincent Rague.
Ndegwa is a graduate of Economics and Statistics from the University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant, with over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, with 12 years being in senior positions. He also worked with KQ and then appoint as the Jambojet’s Chief Financial Officer in the year 2016.
