Legendary Kenya actor Charles Bukeko aka Papa Shirandula has passed away. The family has confirmed. He passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in Nairobi, Kenya at Karen Hospital.
Shirandula is known for portraying the titular character in the television series Papa Shirandula on Citizen TV, which he also created and won the 2010 Kalasha Award for Best Actor in a TV Series.
The family revealed that the legendary comedian died of COVID-19.
Ronal Wanyama, Bukeko’s brother revealed that he developed breathing completions and was rushed to Karen Hospital where he succumbed to the deadly disease.
“It is sad that he didn’t make it out of the hospital alive. He had tested positive for Covid-19. We are devastated,” Wanyama said
According to some reliable sources at Royal Media Services (RMS), a good number of staff at the media house have tested positive after mass testing was conducted. On Friday, Senior Citizen TV reporter confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19
