Kenyan-Mexican actress and author Lupita Amondi Nyong’o, popularly know as Lupita Nyong’o has finally confirmed that her famous children’s fiction picture book, Sulwe will be available in Kenya in 3 different languages; English, Swahili, and her mother tongue Luo.

The 37-year-old made the announcement on her social media pages where she also insisted that she understands the importance of sharing her story with her fellow Kenyans, and hopes that the message will reach the rest of the world.

I hope the book’s message can continue to travel the world for readers of all ages, but it’s especially meaningful to bring it home! 🇰🇪 #BrightnessIsJustWhoYouAre #SulweHomecoming

Sulwe was originally published in English 15 October 2019. The move to make the book available in the home country in national and local languages was highly welcomed bu Lupita’s fans.

Lupita Nyong’o is the daughter of a Kenyan politician Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o (current Governor of Kisumu County Government). She was born in Mexico City, where her father was teaching and was raised in Kenya from the age of one.
