Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta has said, he is optimistic that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign a new contract and stay at Arsenal.

Gabon International has only one year remaining on his Arsenal contract. He has been rumored to leave the gunners during the next transfer window

After Arsenal’s continuous improvement on the pitch, Mikel now feels that the 31-year-old is more likely to remain at Emirates Stadium rather than move to another club.

“I don’t know, to put a date right now is very difficult. I like the way the conversations are going, I like what I’m hearing.

“I’m sure for both parties, the quicker we can do it, the better for everyone. I am confident he will extend his stay.” The Spaniard told Sky Sports.

Aubameyang scored two goals against rivals Manchester City last week to earn Arsenal a spot in the FA Cup final where they will meet Chelsea.
